Juanjo Mena Leads BSO in Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony,, 10/19-21

Popular guest conductor Juanjo Mena will lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony on Friday, October 19 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, October 21 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, and Saturday, October 20 at 8 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore. Acclaimed Italian pianist Benedetto Lupo makes his BSO debut performing Bartok's Piano Concerto No. 3. Also on the program are selections from Dvorak's Slavonic Dances.

Markus Stenz Leads BSO in Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, 'Eroica,' 10/4 & 6

Under the baton of debuting conductor Markus Stenz, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, "Eroica" on Thursday, October 4 at 8 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore, and Saturday, October 6 at 8 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. German violinist Kolja Blacher will make his BSO debut performing Schumann's Violin Concerto. In addition, the Orchestra will perform Chaos from Rebel's The Elements. BSO Principal Timpanist Dennis Kain Passes Away; Memorial Set for September 20

The musicians and staff of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) mourn the loss of Dennis Kain, Principal Timpanist, who lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, September 15. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and BSO Music Director Marin Alsop are passionate about breaking down barriers that separate orchestras from their audiences. In keeping with that vision, Maestra Alsop has funded a pilot partnership with Parsons The New School for Design to create new interactions between the orchestra and its audience through a re-imagining of traditional concert dress. This semester-long collaborative studio will investigate new fashions and wearable technologies that emphasize a networked world of musicians, audiences, the music being performed and the concert hall facility.

Soprano prodigy Jackie Evancho will perform songs from her album Songs from the Silver Screenwith the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The astonishingly talented star made her breakthrough performance at the age of 10 on NBC's "America's Got Talent" and was praised by judge Piers Morgan as being "the whole package."

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) Music Director Marin Alsop leads the BSO in 2012-2013 Season Preview Concerts on Thursday, September 13 at 8 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore and on Friday, September 14 at 8 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The concert highlights programs from the 2012-2013 season, such as Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, music from Bernstein's West Side Story, and a performance of Baltimore native Christopher Rouse's Ku-Ka-Ilimoku.
